IMPORTANT NOTE: TELEVISION STANDARD
Thai DVDs are mostly recorded in PAL television standard which is used in many parts of the world but NOT in the USA where the standard is called NTSC. Customers in the USA and Canada must have a PAL-compatible television, or a DVD player that can change PAL output to NTSC output in order to view PAL DVDs. Watching DVDs on computer DVD-ROM players can avoid this problem.IMPORTANT NOTE: ZONE RESTRICTION
Zone coding is fixed on most DVD players and DVD discs. This is an attempt by makers of DVDs to control where in the world the DVD can be played. Chinese movie DVDs are mostly zone-free. Zone-free discs can be played anywhere in the world (with proviso that TV standard is compatible). Zone 3 DVDs can only be played in SE Asia. Customers wishing to order these DVDs must either have zone-3 DVD player, or have a DVD player that has had zone-detection disabled.IMPORTANT NOTE: DVD EXCHANGE/REFUND POLICY

This is why we request and require that you state the compatibility of your DVD player on check out if you have potentially problematic DVDs in your basket. We cannot however accept responsibility for incompatible DVDs so please, ensure that your TV and DVD players are compatible before you order. VCD is a format that is highly popular in Asia because of its low cost. It has become the format of choice in Asian countries and has largely replaced VHS videos. A VCD basically, is a CD-ROM with video data on it. Because of this a VCD only has about one hour of video per disc, and the quality, although good, is never as good as DVDs. The vast majority of DVD players will play movie VCDs, as well as most computers and Sony PlayStation consoles. There is usually not the same problem of PAL compatibility for VCDs as for DVDs. Unless otherwise stated, Chinese movies on VCDs have Thai sound only and no subtitle.
Large numbers of Chinese (Hong Kong, Taiwan) TV series have been released on VCDs boxed sets, a few have been released on DVDs. Most series are period kung fu action, but there are also many romance dramas and thrillers set in modern times.
Chinese TV series are packaged either in 2-disc jewel cases or in paper sleeves or cardboard albums. When jewel cases are used, one boxed set can weigh a lot and so can be expensive to ship. If you wish to minimize shipping cost please request that the jewel cases are removed. As the outer cardboard box can also be heavy, we normally remove them too when you specify no jewel case. If you want the outer box please indicate this when you order. If you decide at a later date that you want the outer box, we normally keep these for a while and can ship them with your next order.Please note that unless otherwise stated, Chinese TV series on VCDs are Thai dubbed only, no subtitle. Many titles have dual-language soundtrack, Chinese and Thai. Please adjust the balance control of your amplifier to select the soundtrack language to hear.
